Salman Leaves His Mentor Barjatya High & Dry

The actor is skipping the 25-year celebration of his debut film Maine Pyar Kiya.

Salman Khan has left his 1989 debut film Maine Pyar Kiya's director Sooraj Barjatya in a daze.

The story goes that Barjatya had planned a big event on December 29 to commemorate 25 years of Maine Pyar Kiya. Salman had confirmed with Barjatya's office that he will attend.

Salman has now informed Barjatya that he won't attend, as he is flying off to Sri Lanka on December 28 for a professional commitment. Salman's Sri Lanka assignment was finalised only recently.

A source close to Barjatya told SpotboyE.com, "The Maine Pyar Kiya event stands cancelled for now. Whether we hold it later or not is yet to be decided."

Meanwhile, Salman has been given a day off from the shoot of Bigg Boss 8 for his birthday tomorrow. He will shoot two episodes before taking the flight to Sri Lanka and return to Mumbai on January 1, 2015.
